How do I turn the device on?
Prior to turning the device on, make sure all accessories and components connected. To turn on the device, press the main power switch located on the top right side of the unit and wait for the PIN code request to populate on the display. To switch the device off, press the same main power switch and keep it pressed for 2 seconds and then release the button.
What is the PIN code for my device and why do I need one?
The standard PIN code is 1 2 3 4. When turning the device on for the first time, enter the standard PIN code to unlock the device. Once unlocked, the PIN can be changed. Resonance updated the user interface to comply with European regulations and to protect patient data.
What is the PUK code for my device and why do I need one?
The PUK code is a second code for unlocking the device in case the wrong PIN code is entered after three attempts. Entering the wrong PIN code three times will lock the device. The PUK code will be needed to unlock the unit.
Where do I find the PIN and PUK codes for my device?
The PIN and PUK codes for your device appear at the bottom portion of the Pin and Puk document packaged with the unit (it should reside in a plastic bag containing the USB pen drive and stylus pen). The standard PIN code is 1 2 3 4 which can be changed to a custom code. The PUK code is unique to the device. The PIN and PUK document should be filed for future reference in the event the wrong PIN is entered three time, locking the device, and to quickly access the serial number of the device.
Does this unit have an auto shut off feature? Why does my touch screen go blank?
To preserve the battery, display brightness reduces by 20% after 60 seconds of inactivity. After 2 minutes of inactivity, the device switches to sleep mode. Simply touch the screen to reactive the device. After 8 minutes of inactivity, if not connected to the battery charger, the device will switch off automatically. Press the ON/OFF button to restart the device. The unit has an AUTOSAVE feature; when enabled (from the main set up menu), once a patient is selected, every performed test will be automatically stored in the database when exiting. If disables, a pop-up window will be displayed asking confirmation whether to save the test.
How do I add a new license to my device?
- press SETUP icon from main screen
- press GENERAL
- press LICENSES
- press ADD NEW
- enter License Code
- press ADD NEW to confirm
- the device will either display
- confirmation message stating the test added OR
- error message if license is not valid

Adjustable Parameters
Time Out: Max search time per single frequency ranges between 2 and 16 seconds. Auto mode is also available with options of 2 to a maximum of 8 seconds. The algorithm checks SNR in real time. When it is at least 1 dB above set threshold value, testing moves on to the subsequent frequency to speed up the test.
Stimulus Level F1: Allows selection of F1 intensity. Possible options include L1` = L2 (F1 will be same intensity as F2), L1 = L2 + 10 dB (F1 will be +10 dB relative to F2), and auto (F1 level TBD on the formula L1 = 0.4, L2 + 39 dB to allow auto adjustment of stimulus level to obtain max cochlear response)
Stimulus Level F2: Allows selection of F2, ranging between 30 dB SPL and 70 dB SPL
Artifact Level: max acceptable noise level such that when the noise exceeds set value, measurement is rejected. Value between 20 dB SPL and 60 dB SPL can be selected.
Frequency Retest: when enabled, it retests specific frequencies in the event of a "refer" result
Number of Frequencies per pass: min number of frequency bancs that must exceed SNR threshold for pass result
Frequencies and SNR: value of SNR for each frequency can be set between 3, 6, or 9 dB, or the frequency band can be disabled by setting "-".
A max of 3 sets of predefined valued can be saved by keeping the numbered fields on the right side of the screen pressed for a few seconds and until they turn green. In addition to the 3 user-definable protocols, there are 2 presents: 55/65 and 70/70. These are used for screening tests, perform 5-frequency checks at fixed levels, and cannot be edited.
Optional Accessories
The following are optional and not included in the standard product package: 1) external USB keyboard, 2) Wi-Fi thermal printer, and 3) video otoscope.
